The simple act of sharing food.

Our restaurant sits at the heart of the house, and is a space where the character of the hotel reveals itself most clearly: through warmth, aroma, and the simple act of sharing food. What we serve follows the same elemental rhythm found throughout Gedara: grounding and generous, warming and bold, soft and fluid, light and unexpected. Each dish is shaped to be felt as much as it is tasted.

The dining experience is intimate by design. The restaurant is open to hotel guests throughout the week, offering a relaxed, personal way to dine. Once or twice weekly, we open the table to a small number of outside guests, serving a set menu that invites focus and presence. Fewer tables, fewer distractions—just food, conversation, and time.

We cook with care, not excess.
Rooted in Sri Lanka. Guided by the seasons.

Our cooking is rooted in Sri Lankan tradition. The spices, slow methods, and layered flavours come directly from the island’s culinary language—familiar, comforting. At the same time, we allow ourselves room to interpret. A modern gesture here, a quiet twist there. Classic dishes are reimagined with restraint and care, honouring their origins while letting them breathe into something new.

We cook with curiosity and with appetite. For freshness. For balance. For the moment when a flavour opens, lingers, and asks you to pause. Coconut, tamarind, fresh herbs, slow-cooked curries, bold spices, softened by texture and contrast—each plate composed to feel generous, alive, and considered.

We are crafting our menu for you—coming soon.
